BASH Local – October’s Charity of the Month

Press release from BASH Local

BASH Local are a charity supporting homeless and vulnerable housed people in the local community. Winter places big demands on the charity and they’re delighted to be chosen as charity of the month for October.

October 10th is World Homeless day, and its slogan is ‘‘locals act locally on a global day’’. Although based in Brighouse the charity supports the surrounding areas including Halifax via outreach and drop in sessions at the office. They can, thanks to donations, provide food, drink and clothing and also run a food bank. The services they provide are continually expanding based on demand. Support and funding is an essential part of enabling the charity to continue its ever increasing help to service users.

The BASH team will be in store on Tuesday 10th October to raise awareness of the services they provide. Prior to this on Saturday 7th October its supporters will be taking part in Brighouse’s first ever Big Bash Sleep Out. Spending an uncomfortable night out will not only raise funds for the charity but the experience highlights what it actually feels like to spend a cold vulnerable night out on the streets.

A much more comfortable and fun, fundraising event gets the festive season off on the right note too. On Friday 1st December they are hosting their Christmas BASH at Crow Nest Golf Club, Hove Edge. Tickets are limited and going like hot mince pies not surprisingly. Available for £20 including dressed buffet, live music and festive entertainment.

The BASH Brigade are very much looking forward to spending time in Harveys of Halifax this October, meeting customers and their amazing retail team.

Please visit www.bashlocal.co.uk for full details about events and the charity.

Brighouse Bash local is Brighouse based charity but also supports its surrounding areas. We support homeless and vulnerably housed people in the local community via outreach and drop in sessions at the office. Thanks to donations we can provide food, drink and clothing. More importantly we can provide a listening ear. We genuinely care!

Thanks to links we have built with local organisations and charities we also offer a signposting service. If you’re struggling with homelessness, money management issues (perhaps due to benefit sanctions), debt, alcohol or drug dependency, more often than not we can point you in the direction of a service or charity that can help.

Bash now has its own Foodbank and Support Drop in Service for anyone in need who has the postcodes HD6 or HX3, this is thanks to the enormous contributions from local people, churches and businesses. We are a dedicated team providing a much needed service. The services we provide are continually expanding based on demand.
