During March, we’re joining the fight against cancer in young people by supporting the vital work of local charity, The Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust.
Our support coincides with the final month of the charity’s 20th Anniversary year.
For 20 years, the charity set up by the family of 17-year-old Brighouse girl Laura Crane has been striving to improve the lives of thousands of teenagers and young adults with cancer. The survival and support for young cancer patients has really improved in the last 20 years, but the charity is always looking for new and innovative ways to support their young cancer patients. With our help they can continue and increase the impact they have on the lives of young cancer patients.
For their 20th anniversary year the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust have introduced a scheme to support individual patients by providing a gift to ease difficulties or enhance their life. These gifts have included everyday items that we may take for granted but with special uses. For example, one gift was a large screen television, which has enabled a young man who had drastically reduced vision due to cancer and treatment to watch programmes again with his friends and family. We’re inviting customers to support while they shop and help provide these invaluable gifts to young cancer patients.
You’ll will notice charity information and donation boxes throughout the store. There will also be opportunities to meet representatives of the charity including their Patron, rugby league legend Keith Senior during special charity days. These include;
