Cost:

£50.00 per person

2h

About this experience

This festive workshop is the chance to learn a new skill, get creative and have some festive fun.

In the workshop professional calligrapher Ellie will talk you through everything you need to know. She will help you familiarise yourself with the calligraphy tools and how to use them correctly.
Starting with the basic strokes, you will then together progress to writing some festive words and greetings (while enjoying a mince pie and a sip of fizz!). You will discover how to use your fresh knowledge to level up your Christmas gifting with unique personalisations and decorations.

Following the workshop you will know how to use the calligraphy tools and write the lower and upper case letters of the alphabet. You will then be able to apply your new knowledge to a simple but effective Christmas project of your choice, including: gift tags, greeting cards and wrapping paper and delight friends and family with uniquely personalised Christmas gifts.

You will make 1 of these items on the day, which will be a gift tag and then additionally be able to take home your very own luxury calligraphy set, to carry on your creative journey at home.

Please note that the image examples here are from previous events and may vary to the gift tags you create on the day.

Ellie is a lettering artist and calligrapher based in Halifax. She has worked as a graphic designer for over 15 years, but her love for the written word led her to pursue calligraphy.

Ellie says -'My journey started in 2016 when I got some brush pens to try during my maternity leave. My little experiment soon turned into an obsession. Since then I have continued to develop my skills. I love experimenting with new materials, inks and textures, taking new classes in different calligraphy styles.

I create private commissions and wedding stationery but what I love most of all is sharing my passion for this beautiful art with new friends.'
